- When you graduate after 4-5 years of college, you'll think you're ready to take on a classroom full of small humans, but you are not ready.
- Your wardobe will probably consist of 10+ shirts from the school you work at, because who doesn't need another t-shirt?
- You will meet some of the best friends of your life working in a school; including some of the students.
- Sometimes you will just feel the need to snap a selfie in the work bathroom.
- Graduating with your Master's while teaching is an amazingly accomplished feeling.
- Saying goodbye to your maiden name after getting married is hard for both you and the students.
- You will cry over students. Many times.
- More than once, a lesson will bomb and you won't realize it's bombing until you are right in the middle of it with nowhere to go.
- Even if you think the students hate you, they still want you to be the teacher in the classroom.
- You can't fix parents who don't give a hoot.
- You will fall totally, completely in love with what you do if you let yourself.

What they don't tell you about being a Teacher:

Beautiful People
A big hello to all of you beauties;
I apologize for falling off of the grid again. Since starting this new position at work, I've been overwhelmed with things to do. Not only am I co-teaching two classes in addition to teaching 4 other classes solo, but I'm one of the junior-class co-sponsors. This basically means I help supervise football game concessions as a prom fundraiser, and I will help lead class meetings/prom committees. I'm loving the opportunity to get to know kids outside of my classes that I teach (I only have a couple juniors in class), but it's definitely a time commitment. With all of this in mind, I'm also in charge of 20 lovely little humans' IEP paperwork - navigating this is a task within itself. To say I've been "busy" is understatement, but I am loving what I'm doing. I feel a purpose; what more could I ask for?
I actually have managed to get out of the house a few times and see people I really, really love though. As you probably know, Chiefs are back in action. The home opener meant a reunion with my Chiefs fam! We are parking in red reserve this year, which was amazing! A new spot closer to the action, more fan traffic to pass out our jello shots, and amenities right next to us (dumpster, bathrooms, etc.) makes a great set up. Here's a few shots from the first game:
I also made the journey over to Chillicothe for their Homecoming game to see some of my favorite people in the whole, wide world. Miss Erin was a junior attendant, and my favorite roommate, Alli Palumbo, was in town from Chicago. It was great to be back where it all started for me. I'm just sorry I didn't get any more pictures than I did!

Ben also got a new job working for Bank of America, so that has been an adjustment in our schedule. I'm not really sure what do with all of this time we have together on the weekends now! We've got big plans for city market trips, the Renaissance Festival, and more.
Recently invested in this great shirt as well. Love supporting a cause that's so close to home; RIP Gramma.
I'm genuinely hoping to get more posts up in the near future. I will warn you all that the next two weeks hold parent-teacher conferences and Cameron's 100th Homecoming... aka: CRAZY BUSY. Be thinking of me!
