Christmas List

Well guys, with Thanksgiving 2013 officially in the books, I thought I'd put together a a little Christmas list of things that I've had my eye on! I have to say that coming up with a list is becoming harder and harder as I get older, but here goes!

1. New outerwear items from good ol' Old Navy

2. A new Mizzou sweatshirt - I'm looking to invest in something without a hood like this one:

3. Some pretty shades of nail polish to help me grow out these stubby nails of mine; I've found some great options at Walmart:

4. A new Chiefs hat! Who can have enough of these??
5. A 6ft charger for my iPhone 5c:

6. I've also picked out a couple great silver watches that I'd like to add to my collection:

From Miss to Mrs.

Over the weekend I was blessed to spend a couple hours surrounded by wonderful people in celebration of my upcoming wedding. It was a humbling and amazing experience having so many women I love, from so many walks of my life, in one room to celebrate ME. I am so very blessed to love so many and be loved in return.

This bridal shower was thrown by my mother and bridesmaids. Unfortunately, the ball was dropped on getting a picture of me with my mama... I don't know we let this happen. Nevertheless, here are some great shots of the day!

My 'maids. :) It was so wonderful to have all 8 in the same place with me!

I received so many wonderful gifts from friends and family. I also had a wonderful helper to open my first gift!!

I received a number of Chiefs gifts: buckets full of kitchen utensils, a blanket, this gem of a veil, and another gift that I can't show you all just yet!

One of my bridesmaid's grandmother makes cakes and she make me this cute (and perfectly fitting) cake for the occasion!

Jessica also tried her hand at baking and whipped up these delicious bridal themed cookies! :)

Overall, the day was fantastic and I loved spending time with everyone. Thank you everyone who helped put on this beautiful day! It's definitely setting in that in not too long I will be going from a Miss to a Mrs!!

Chiefs VS Chargers

Well guys, we made it through the coldest November day in 20 years. We hoped for a win, but we came out with an entertaining game. Our offense was ON FIRE; unfortunately, our defense just wasn't meshing. Here are a couple snapshots of the game:

Homemade Mac & Cheese

This week, I tried my hand at making "homemade" macaroni and cheese. Mind you I didn't actually make anything, but I also didn't eat it out of a box. I got this idea from a friend of mine who made it as part of a dinner I ate at her house once over the summer.

Here are the things you need:
  1. Pasta (any shape that works for you)
  2. Two blocks of cheese (pick the types to your liking)
  3. Milk
  4. Margarine/butter

What worked for me was this: while my water was trying to boil, I chunked up about 2/3 of each of the blocks of cheese. Some people would chunk the whole thing, but I'm not as big of a fan of overly cheesy macaroni and cheese, so I cut the amount back.

Once my pasta was done cooking I drained it, poured it back in the pot, then added the cheese chunks, about 1/4 cup of milk, and a couple tablespoons of margarine. I let it simmer on the heat until the cheese was melted and mixed in.

Once it was all melted and mixed, I served it up! Easy as pie and only took about 10 minutes thanks to my 3-minute pasta! Enjoy!

*The one thing I will warn you about is to be prepared to have a layer of pasta to scrape off the bottom of your pan. I'm not sure if more butter or milk would remedy this problem, but one I ran hot water on mine it slid right off with the help of a spoon! :)

WIWW

Hello to my favorite people! I owe you guys one big, fat apology today because I slacked TO THE MAX on taking outfit pics this week. I got you three, but I feel like a failure for it... Please forgive me!

Last week I tried the idea of pairing a printed chambray with a solid colored dress. I think it worked out alright!
