Halloween, already?

I wrapped up the month of October with some fun things here in Chillicothe. I ended up going to Walmart and buying my students candy to celebrate Halloween in class. Who doesn't love getting a piece of candy in class in high school? Nobody, that's who! Even so, I still got interesting reactions and comments from some of my students. My favorite being: "You can tell she's new, she got us candy for Halloween." Well, guys, I hate to break it to you... but I don't think you're ever too old for candy on Halloween, so I'll be passing out candy to my students every year until I retire. :)

Halloween afternoon was exciting because Ben took a spur-of-the-moment trip up to Chillicothe to see me! We ate at the Mexican restaurant owned by one of my student's parents, bought Halloween cookies, and then I put him to work carving me a (beautiful) pumpkin/roasting the seeds. It was only the second time that B has been up to Chilli, so it was fun. **PS: check out my man's weight loss progress!

Friday night, my roommates and I rang in November by attending the CHS Fall Feast. Every year the show choir puts on this fundraiser where you pay for a ticket and in return get Thanksgiving dinner, plus entertainment. This year the entertainment was the show choir (naturally), plus the Central Elementary school Ukulele band. Listening to/watching 4th-5th graders play ukeleles and sing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" made for a great night.

Lastly, even though this has nothing to do with Fall or Halloween... I'd like to point out how NOT red my face is in that last photo of me. What up Dr. M finally realizing I've got Rosacea and giving me cream to use on the daily to fix it. I'm a normal person with a normal hue. Gotta love it!

xoxo
