Women's Empowerment Project

I know that this post is coming in really late compared to when we went to see it, but I felt that it was necessary to share no matter how behind on blogging I've become. Back a few weeks ago Winnetonka's theater department put on a performance series called the Women's Empowerment Project.

There were three components to the event.
  1. The first was the "Wall of Secrets." Reminiscent of Post Secret, this wall was filled with the secrets of women and how they felt about their bodies, sex, etc.
  2. The second was the Statistics Wall. This wall was full of quotes and statistics about assault against women and photos of the women in the Winnetonka theater department.
  3. The third facet of the project was the performance itself.

Essentially, this entire performance weekend was dedicated to bringing light to women's issues. Powerful stuff for high school. Here are a couple of pictures:
