Mother's Day gift Suggestions

In my experiences over the years of being a daughter, I have come up with a list of sure fire, go-to Mother's Day gifts that always do the trick! I thought I'd share!

  1. Flowers. Duh. But bouquets are so expensive! Let's face it, anyone under the age of 30 has a hard time swallowing the price of a beautiful floral arrangement. Last year I went the route of buying my mom a ROSE BUSH instead. Bingo! She loved it. Not only did she get to enjoy it for a little while, but it comes back every year! Walmart has a great selection of rose bushes for UNDER $10!!!
  2. Home made cards. No matter how old you get, your mommy loves getting something home made. Put a little love in it, and she won't care that you didn't pay much (if anything) for it!
  3. Dinner. Her favorite meal. Whether it's out a restaurant (bless you people who brave the crowds), or homemade. My mom loves getting cooked for. She gets to relax and enjoy, not cater to everyone else!
  4. Pictures of all the kids together. THIS WAS A WINNER LAST YEAR. My brother and I went to a local portrait studio (that had a GREAT package deal going on), and had our picture taken together. My mom had been asking for this gift for YEARS, and hung it proudly on the dining room wall. Plus we were able to send this to other special mom's in our lives too - aunts, gramma's, etc. We also went ahead and splurged to get her individual photos of us too!
  5. Gift cards they HAVE to use on themselves. Something I've realized over the years is that my mom hardly ever does anything for herself. I practically have to make her buy herself new clothes (IF/WHEN I can convince her). Gift cards they have to use on themselves are great - their favorite restaurant, massages, Victoria's Secret, etc. are all great ideas for this. Steer clear of Walmart and places like that, because you know they'll spend it on someone else!

What are some of the things that you get your mom each year? Have you found a sure fire gift that she always loves??
