No-shop February

Similar to no-shave November, but with shopping. In February.

You read that right... I, Kimberly Duvall, am not going to buy anything (aside from food, gas, etc.) for the ENTIRE month of February. I was inspired to take this challenge by a few of my fellow bloggers that have taken/are taking this challenge!

As you all know, a recent wedding and holiday season has left our branch of the Duvall family tree feeling like we (mostly I) need to be a little more conscious of where our money is going. We've made some budgetary plans - NO Valentine's Day gifts, putting away specific amounts for specific purposes in specific accounts, etc. - and I decided that a good way to curb my money output was to take a chance on this challenge.

Starting now (actually, it started February 1st) until March 1st, I will not be able to purchase any of the following items:

  • Clothes of any kind
  • Candy
  • School supplies
  • Gifts for others
  • Beauty products
  • Craft supplies
I note these things specifically because they are the things I like to spend my money on the most! I think the biggest challenge will be passing up on killer deals that I may come across!

Lucky for me, a friend of mine is saving to move out of her parents house, so she has agreed to take this challenge with me! It will be great to have an accountability partner for this process. WHO KNOWS, maybe this will change my shopping habits for much longer than this month!

LET'S DO THIS!
