Valentine's on a BUDGET

Okay, guys. Let's talk about the dreaded "B word." BUDGET. With Valentine's Day coming up, being on a budget is definitely not something I'm thrilled about. I want to be able to shower my new hubby in gifts AND love. Duh duh duh... Ben and I have decided to forego gifts this year following a pretty financially heavy December/January. UGH. Instead, he is in charge of dinner at home, while I am in charge of dessert. I can handle that.

My thought is though, just because I'm not exchanging gifts this year doesn't mean I can't help out my fellow budgeting friends! Here are a few ideas that I have in mind for cute Valentine's gifts on the cheap; mostly based off of small, inexpensive things that Ben and I have done for each other over the years!

1. What I Love About You: This book is available at B&N. You fill out all of the prompted pages. It varies from lists, to stories, to pictures. Total Cost: $14.

2. Homemade desserts: This is an easy, cheap fix for your Valentine's sweetie. The cheaper route on the left is just chocolate cake mix, on the right are red velvet cheesecake brownies. Total Cost of ingredients: $4 and $12 respectively.

3. Homemade coupons: The chance to write up your own deals and romantic outings! Total Cost: $2.

4. Your favorite Cheesecake Factory treats: fairly self-explanatory. Total Cost: $20.

5. Misc. Random Ideas: Favorite Sonic drink as a surprise, coversation hearts, or a cute little Valentine's surprise! Cost for each: $2, $1, and $1 respectively.

What are some of your ideas for Valentine's Day on a Budget?!
