Recently I had the opportunity to visit a restaurant named Stroud's off of Shawnee Mission Parkway in the KC area. Stroud's is a homestyle/family-style restaurant known for their pan-fried chicken and cinnamon rolls.
I was lucky enough to take in this family-style restaurant with my family, sharing heaping portions of potatoes, green beans, and gravy to accompany or entree choices. Pan-fried chicken obviously takes a few extra minutes, but the wait was definitely worth it. The food was spectacular, complementing the friendly service that we received.
It is my suggestion that if you've got the opportunity to visit, you should head out to one of their locations. I left happy and full. My only complaint was that they didn't have a beer menu!
