[Day 7-8] Yonkers, NY/da Bronx, NY/Central Valley, NY
Something that I really enjoyed about the first few days of being in New York was that we really took it easy and didn't do a ton of tourist-y type things. Friday, after we got there we ate pizza at a local place and then went grocery shopping. Saturday, we just ran errands and then had a big family dinner at one of our favorite places to go, Frankie and Johnny's. There aren't too many pictures, but here's one of what I had at dinner. I ate about 20% of this, but it was so delicious!!
On Sunday, we drove about an hour to the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. They have a Vera Bradley outlet and a Puma outlet that I hit pretty hard while we were there! :)
[Day 9] Cooperstown, NY
On Monday, we took the trek to Cooperstown to see the MLB HOF and Museum. This was a cool trip because even though my family is known for being full of hard-core Chiefs fans, we love baseball too. I actually went to my first Royals game at 13 days old! As you can probably guess, there wasn't rooms and rooms of Royals memorabelia, but I had a great time learning about the history and they had some really neat exhibits about some of the greatest players to play.

Something I really enjoyed was their huge section on MLB Integration. They payed great tribute to Jackie Robinson, and had a TON of stuff on the Kansas City Monarchs! Seeing all of this made me realize that I've never actually been to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum that is in KC even though I've lived here all of my life! Definitely something I need to check off my bucket list, so let me know if you'd be interested in being my +1 on that trip! :)
One of my favorite parts of the whole museum was the "Women in Baseball" exhibit. It was such a cool experience to see the history of women playing during the war, and to see what role women play in modern day baseball. There are so many female execs for teams that I had no idea about! There was a cool section about "A League of Their Own," which I thought was neat because it included interviews with the director, their costumes, etc.

After we finished at the HOF, we walked a bit to find somewhere to eat. We ended up going to this cute place called "Hey, Getcha Hot Dog!," which was essentially a restaurant that served ball park food, but for way cheaper. Then we got ice cream and headed home since it was a three hour drive! I drove a lot of it and got a little taste of NY suburb traffice [which is nothing close to NY traffic I'm sure, but still crazy!!]. My aunt cooked at home that night for dinner.
Next up, we head to the city!
