If you know me at all [or have been following for a while], you know that Ben's family is pretty invested in the Bagley, WI area. They own a few river cottages, and Independence Day is a BIG deal in a pretty small town. Ben and I have kind of a made a habit of getting up there every other year, and this year was the year to go.
Instead of staying in one of the family cottages, Ben's mom made arrangements for her, all of her children, and their spouses/children to stay in a cabin about 30 miles away from Bagley. This allowed for a little bit of time together as a family, while still being close enough to hang out with extended family relatives and take part in the Bagley celebration!
I've really been slacking lately when it comes to taking photographs of things that I'd like to remember, but alas, most of the things we did will be memories in my brain and not in my scrapbook. Here are a few of the snapshots that I WAS able to grab throughout the week that we were there:
Carl time; Ben loves being an uncle to this little cutie.

Campfires/smores and boat rides on the river were among some of the things Carl experienced while on the trip!

July 4th included watching the parade, family pictures, snoozing, and a fireworks display.

A few photos from our day exploring McGregor, IA and all of the quirks it had to offer.

Our final morning consisted of a tour around the farm on which our cabin is located. Beautiful scenery!
