Back to School, Back to School...

Let me just be honest with you... I have been working basically all summer. Teachers spend their summers lesson planning, researching, and attending meetings and professional development sessions. I took time over the summer to redecorate my classroom, send home newsletters to my caseload, and try to find more effective ways to differentiate my lessons in the classroom. I've been busy since school was let out in May, but I officially went back to work a few weeks ago, and school started on August 18th.

With that said, I wanted to share a few snapshots of my classroom with you:

If I'm being honest with you, things have changed even since I took these pictures. I took down the four writing styles posters and replaced them with another faux bulletin board in one section and hung college/career resources in the other. I also acquired another small booksheft like the one with baskets on it to hold additional supplies/student binders.

This year I am co-teaching four hours a day [with three different teachers], so I'm only teaching in my room two hours. While that is true, I still wanted the room to be a warm, inviting space that made learning accessable and fun. I think that I achieved that.

And just for fun... a few selfies to chronicle my last day "off," and my first day of school look. You're welcome!
