Home Tour

Alright, guys. The time has come the walrus said... for a "home tour." We've been in our new house about 2.5 months now, and other than a few bumps in the home-ownership road, we're very happy! I didn't really think about doing a home tour on the blog until now for a couple of reasons.
1. We had a housewarming party back at the end of June [about a month after we moved in], and a lot of people saw the house then.
2. The reason I've decided to do it now is because my friend's sister and her family just rennovated a beautiful home in KC and she posted the pictures of inside of the house for the world to see. Now, our home is nowhere near as beautiful as theirs, but I can guess a couple of people in the world may still want to see what it looks like.

Just a little background info on the house first. It is a tri-level home with a sub basement. So essentially, there are four levels, but they're smaller and separated by only a half flight of stairs. It is a three bedroom, 3 bathroom [one 1/2 bath, one 3/4 bath, and one full bath] home.
TOP FLOOR: The top floor of the house holds the three bedrooms, a 1/2 bath, and a full bath [+ a linen closet].
BEDROOM #2
Consists of two closets, a built-in dresser, my great-grandparent's bedroom furniture, & a quilt made by Ben's gramma!

 MASTER BEDROOM/BATHROOM
Our master bedroom is smaller [we don't even have a TV], but it holds our things nicely and has a 1/2 bath inside of it.

 BEDROOM #3
Bedroom #3 is the smallest of the three and houses a twin bed and our extra TV.

FULL/HALLWAY BATH
Our full bath not being in the bedroom actually works nicely as we can not bother the other while getting ready in the morning. It has a shower tub and double sinks too!
MAIN FLOOR: The main floor of the house [entry level] holds the kitchen, dining room, and "formal" living room/reading room. While there are defined spaces, they flow nicely together so I won't separate them. There are no pictures of the kitchen because it isn't in a presentable state. ;)
Out the sliding glass doors are stairs to a concrete patio where our grill and patio set are. We have not found the perfect second chair for the reading room yet.

FAMILY ROOM/BASEMENT: Our basement level is a large family room with a 3/4 bath [toilet, sink, stand-up shower]. We have utilized the space to define TV space and also work space for both Ben and me.

SUB-BASEMENT: From the basement, there is also a set of stairs to our sub-basement which is an entirely different concrete level. It houses our washer, dryer, HVAC unit, etc. and we are using it for storage at this point.

Overall, things are coming together but we definitely still have a list of things to take care of. We still need to order blinds of some sort for the basement windows, we still need to finish unpacking all of our "office" things, we still need to find the right chair for upstairs, we still need to hang pictures... despite all of that though, it definitely feels like home and we are very happy. :)
