SantaCaliGon

If you're from around the KC metro area, I'm sure you've heard of (or been to) the infamous SantaCaliGon Days festival on Independence Square. Labor Day weekend in my hometown consists of 5 days of crafts, fried foods, carnival rides, country music, and the most delicious root beer around. It also brings to life the notion that "the freaks come out at night." I can tell you that while I enjoy the food and spending time with my friends, I also get to count mullets and people that I went to high school with that I haven't spoken to since (sometimes they're the same). Alas, I go every year! Here are some snaps from my visit in 2013:

One stop I was sure to make again this year was at Clever Creek Designs' booth in the craft tent! Heather has a ton of cute stuff ranging from holidays to classroom decorations, and I am in love with it all! My mom picked me up this gem! I can't wait to put it in my classroom come January!

Additionally, Ben and I picked up some of the famous rootbeer, as well as a funnel cake from my favorite funnel cake booth! We got it split down the middle of our preffered toppings! :)

We also ended up purchasing some yummy cheese from a Wisconsin distributer, and perusing through all of the craft tents. It seemed to me like there were way more vendors than there usually are, but it just gave us more to look at. They also combined the farmer's market with the fair on Saturday, so my mom and I picked up these beauties:

Until next year....
