100 Things

Well guys, I kind of missed the boat because I read somewhere that when you hit post #100 on your blog that you're supposed to publish a list of 100 things about you for your readers. Clearly, we're 8 months into this blog and way past 100 posts, but with all the new readers and "likes" on Facebook, I figured we'd do it for my birthday instead!

So here it is! 100 random things about my life and me!

1. I was born in Kansas City, MO
2. But we moved to Independence, MO when I was barely 7 years old
3. I lived in that house until I went to college
4. I moved back in after college and moved out for the last time this past Friday
5. I am Irish, English, Polish, French, German, and Sioux Indian
6. My paternal grandmother used to put bacon in everything when she cooked
7. I've had 3 cats in my life
8. 2 of them died from feline leukemia
9. I have 1 older brother by 4 years
10. I went to the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO
11. I'm also currently attending graduate school there (Go Tigers!)
12. When I was younger, I dreamed of being a magazine editor
13. I passed on that dream when I decided on Broadcast Journalism
14. But I ended up with a teaching degree
15. I've worked at Old Navy in Independence, MO for 5 years now
16. I met my fiance there
17. He's one of the best people I've ever met in my life
18. I'm marrying him in January
19. It's not soon enough
20. I like to scrapbook
21. I have a scrapbook for every year since I started high school
22. I'm way behind on the hobby though
23. I never pictured myself teaching in a small town
24. That's exactly where I'm starting my teaching career - tomorrow
25. I love to shop
26. I love to shop clearance racks
27. My favorite food in the whole world is macaroni and cheese
28. I also love fruit
29. And basically anything Italian
30. I eat pasta when I'm feeling sick or sad
31. I bake a lot when I'm stressed out
32. I'm hoping over the next year to get better at cooking despite my skin conditions
33. I have 4 skin diseases
34. Plaque Psoriasis
35. Chronic Pustular Psoriasis
36. Alopecia
37. Dermatitis
38. I have a lot of prescriptions (at least 7)
39. I love to travel
40. I have been to at least 25 states (I don't feel like counting)
41. I studied abroad in France in high school
42. And Italy in college
43. I hated red wine until I lived in Italy for 6 weeks
44. Now my favorite wine is red
45. I won't eat or drink anything that is blue
46. Nothing is naturally blue
47. Not even blueberries, smart ass
48. I love cereal
49. Right now I'm doing 30 days of drinking nothing but water 
50. I'm on day 9
51. So far so good
52. One of my favorite shows on TV is Glee
53. I was heart broken when I found out Cory Monteith passed away
54. I also love One Tree Hill
55. And Gossip Girl
56. Even though they're technically not on TV anymore
57. My aunt works in NYC
58. I've seen a lot of Broadway musicals on the trips that I've taken to see her
59. Wicked was my absolute favorite
60. When I was a kid, I spent at least one weekend a month with my paternal grandmother
61. I did so until she died when I was (almost) 19
62. I love getting pedicures
63. I have played a ton of sports throughout my life
64. I played softball for the longest
65. Color Guard (is this a sport? Close enough) was my favorite
66. I was captain my senior year of high school
67. I like hot chocolate more when it has marshmallows in it
68. I like my coffee sweet
69. Same with iced tea
70. I am extremely organized (some would say OCD)
71. I sang in choir all four years that I was in high school
72. I sang in chamber choir my senior year
73. I met some of my best friends (to this day) in that choir
74. I have way too many pairs of shoes
75. I can't wear high heels for very long because of the Psoriasis on my feet
76. Cute sandals have saved my life since then
77. My feet are pretty big
78. My fingers and toes are really long and skinny
79. I have never dyed or treated my hair
80. It was devestating when I had to shave it
81. I (almost) like it better short
82. Blogging is one of my favorite things to do
83. I'd never had Thai food until Ben and I went on our first date
84. I love our dinners there
85. This coming year is going to be the hardest, most rewarding of my life
86. I'm terrified of having my own classroom
87. I'm afraid of messing up
88. One of my best friends is a 5 year old
89. I want to start using my digital camera to take pictures for the blog
90. I love to color pictures like we did in elementary school
91. I like banana's
92. I don't like prime rib
93. I have one of the smartest dogs in the world
94. I have one of the dumbest cats in the world
95. I like to wear blue because I think it brings out my eyes
96. I'm in love with my wedding dress even though it's an object
97. The one thing I need to accomplish in life is to have a family with Ben
98. I can't wait to be an aunt
99. I'm an avid Chiefs football fan - come what may
100. Music saves my life every day
