Friday night, the girls and I treated ourselves to dinner on The Hill. The Hill is basically STL's Little Italy. They've got shops, hotels, bakeries, and more amazing Italian restaurants than you could ever imagine. After researching on the website beforehand, we found ourselves at Mama's. First thing we loved about the place? Only a 15 minute wait! Perfect! Just enough time to take a seat at the bar and buy a bottle of wine! The bartender was great giving us suggestions.
From what we read online, Mama's is the home of the original toasted ravioli. Obviously we had to try that out. We were not disappointed whatsoever.
As far as food Stacey and Megan went traditional with spaghetti and fettuccine alfredo (with shrimp). They let me grab a bite of each, and it's true what they say - you can judge an Italian restaurant on their basic dishes! Both dishes were so delicious!
I, myself, ordered a meat stuffed tortellini with a parmesan garlic cream sauce. It was TO DIE FOR, and only $14.95! What a crazy deal, right?! Nothing better than great food for a reasonable price! The food was so good that I made sure to ice down the leftovers so I could bring them back to Kansas City with me!!
I would definitely recommend a trip to the Hill if you're in St. Louis! It's my guess that all of the restaurants there are great, but I would definitely tell you to check out Mama's! Great food, great wine, and great service! So worth the trip!!
