Here in Independence, we pride ourselves on being the hometown of President Harry S. Truman. There are many things named after him - roads, buildings, etc. Heck, my high school was named after him! Then there's Clinton's! Clinton's is a cute little soda shop on Independence Square (our "downtown") that Truman worked at when he was a teenager. They've got old school phosphates, huge ice cream sundaes, and a few other unique features worth noting like their "Where do you hang your hat?" maps! You just add a push pin if your home town/location isn't marked already!
But really, what's more important than the product? That's the point of this, right? Clinton's has great stuff! The ice cream is delicious, they have a bunch of flavors and toppings, and I love that they serve it in old fashion dishes! I've never had one of their homemade phosphates but it's definitely on my list of to-do's!
In general, I love Clinton's! It's been there my whole life, it's a historical "gem" on our square, and who doesn't love ice cream?! You should definitely check it out if you've never been!
