"Old School Blogging"

Well ladies and gentlemen, I was reading through my Bloglovin' feed and stumbled across a post about "Old School Blogging" - questions to answer, etc. Hop on over to here and check out where I got my inspiration and questions list!

5 Things I Have A Passion For
1. Teaching: Good thing too, considering I am starting my first year as a real teacher in just about a month! It's funny, because I never really imagined myself as a teacher as I was growing up - I wanted to be a Journalist. I figured it out along the way though that this was the path for me. I love helping kids and seeing those "lightbulb" moments!
2. Scrapbooking: If only I had more time! I really enjoy getting my creative juices flowing and building pages. I'm by no means as good as those people who scrapbook for a living though - literally, no where close. I think I just enjoy being able to look back on everything I've put together and relive the memories.
3. Blogging: Does this one make me a loser? I know I'm up and coming in the blog community - I don't have a ton of contacts, but I'm trying to establish myself - but I really enjoy stretching myself to complete DIY projects, cook recipes, "review" restaurants, etc. Plus I like getting to do a recap of my weeks as they happen and re-read things I've said/done for the wedding!
4. Family: Mine is the weirdest, but definitely cool. I couldn't imagine my life without the family members that make me who I am. I'm looking forward to the future also and starting a new family with Benjamin. It's gonna be the best!
5. Chiefs football: This one kind of ties in with my family too, so I'm not sure if it's cheating. My family loves the Chiefs - like, season tickets and own a Chiefs school bus loves the Chiefs. We're from KC and proud, plus it's such a great time going to games and tailgating with friends and family! We're gonna beat the hell outta you!

5 Things I Would Like to do Before I Die
1. Travel: Who doesn't want to travel? Ben and I are taking our first real trip just the two of us to Florida and Mexico for our honeymoon and I couldn't be more excited! We're blessed to have family and friends in numerous states across the US (seriously, we know someone in almost every state) and to visit them, but traveling out of the country is something we're both really interested in doing! I've been to Europe twice, but Ben's never been so I'm definitely hoping to go back some day!
2. Make a Difference: I want to be the teacher that kids look back and are like "You know what, she was weird and hard on us, but she made me learn... and it was fun!" If that happens, I'll have done my job.
3. Go back to Disney: In honest words, I've been to Disney twice. Once in 8th grade for cheerleading nationals, and once this past January (2013) for a dear friend of mine's wedding. I would like to go once more before I have children, and of course to take them - some day. But I also really would like to go to Disney Land. I've never really been to California and it seems like a fun destination.

4. Have clear skin: This one is probably a stretch. I've pretty much accepted that I have Psoriasis and I will always have it, no matter what I do or what medicines I take... but it's nice to have a little hope, right?
5. Get married/have kids: This is a big dream of mine. I never really wanted kids to be honest, but having gotten to know Ben over the years, I can't imagine not having them with him. I'm so excited to be his wife and to have our own family.

  1. I love that you have a passion for teaching. That's what makes a good teacher, that she/ he actually love it. Good luck with it!
